Volunteers Answer the Call
In May 2024, the first STIR Maritimes training retreat/workshop took place at Tatamagouche Centre in Nova Scotia. Six volunteers participated, with others unable to attend due to illness and unforeseen circumstances. The event was filled with excitement as participants were introduced to the mission of STIR Retreats and the retreat movements. There was a palpable desire to make a difference and strengthen local communities.
Participants recognized the great need for this ministry in the Maritimes and were thrilled to be part of this pioneering effort. The session concluded with a commitment to continued learning and exploring future retreat locations and potential donors.

STIR Maritimes will host its second training retreat/workshop from April 25-27, 2025, also at the Tatamagouche Centre. The focus will be on retreat movements, cultural practices within smaller communities, and identifying ideal candidates for future retreats. This will also prepare us for the first official STIR Maritime public retreat in 2026. The call has been heard in the East, and we’re excited to grow.
